Forward Moving Idealistic Aries
Understanding Your Aires
“Where is Mike?”
“I don’t know.
“Did he say anything?”
“No, he was just here a minute ago.”
“Maybe he went to the store?”
“Hey, what was that crashing sound!?
Mike is an Aries, he was sitting at the kitchen table when he had a great idea. It seems to have just popped into his head. So he runs to the backyard hoists a ladder against that half-fallen oak tree ties a rope around the trunk and another around the back bumper of his truck.
He hops into his truck and guns the engine. Down comes the oak with an earth-shaking thud. Mike extricates himself from the cab of his truck amid a tangle of branches and oak leaves.
He did it, he saved the day, that dangerous half-fallen oak tree is no longer a danger. It is safely on the ground. The truck? Well, maybe a little worse for the wear, a loose bumper a few deep gouges in the paint and maybe I will have to replace that tail light, and is that his wife’s favorite rose bush under the tree?…oops! Initiative, Aries has it in spades. Always the first to try something, Aries is fearless. Jumping into the fray with little or more likely no forethought. What’s with these people?
Well, to understand the Aries we must take into consideration a few things. Aries is the first sign of the zodiac. The symbol for Aries q has a dual meaning. Most people think it is the horns of the ram, the animal associated with the sign, which incidentally, is known for butting their heads against things. And this is true, yet it also represents the primary leaves of a seedling. Gardeners know that if they plant seeds in the growing medium, they must label what they have planted because, in the beginning, all seedlings look the same. There is an undifferentiated newness to Aries, they don‘t always know what they want to be when they grow up, they only know that they want To Be.
Aries is the sign associated with the energy of becoming. Of pushing up against the hard crust of the earth and opening up its arms (primary leaves) to the light. And just as the little plant moves toward the light, so the Aries opens unbridled, to new experience.
Aries are all about forward movement, they have an instinctual knowingness about them, and one of the greatest inventors of any era, Leonardo DaVinci was an Aries. Way ahead of his time by centuries, he had note books full of inventions including flying machines. Yet like many Aries he had so many ideas there was little time to make them manifest. Aries can be known for starting many projects all at once, but never quite finishing them.
Aries are also very idealistic, take Thomas Jefferson, the author of the Declaration of Independence and the third president of the United States. His home in Monticello is full of his ‘inventions’, which many people may know about. But did you know he died penniless?
He didn’t think that people who were in public service should be paid. The work is fulfillment enough he believed. Imagine a politician today saying that? Needless to say, Aries are not known for their money prowess, mainly because money is simply a means to an end and little more.
And with all this forward motion, what generally stops an Aries? A brick wall more times than not; sometimes metaphorical and sometimes actual. Aries are known for banging their heads. Notice the school pictures of children who are Aries or have prominent Aries in their Astrology charts, they will most likely have some type of bump or bruise on their forehead.
So knowing this how do we best work with the Aries in our life? Or if you are an Aries how do you deal with your detractors (Quite frankly you don’t know why they’re making such a fuss in the first place.)
Aries needs space, space to become, space to bump up against things if they need to do. (Hide all precious breakables around Aries.) They learn through experience, so they must be allowed to have them. If you don’t allow it, they will find a way anyhow.
Aries is the most subjective sign in the zodiac so don’t expect them to know ‘how it makes you feel’. It takes time for them to become aware that there are others to consider. They seem to inhabit a planet all their own. And it’s a wondrous place full of great ideas and some not so great ideas.
Love them for their courageous spirit and have lots of band aids on hand and life with an Aries can be both fulfilling and exciting!
